King George II Silver 1745 Shilling.

'LIMA' under bust referencing that this was struck from a hoard of silver destined for Spain from Lima, Peru. The Spanish silver was intercepted by Admiral Anson and minted into coinage in 1745-6.

This is a high grade example but there are some small gouges to the face. Please see photos where I've endeavoured to display them in all lights.

Spink 3703.
